About the creator

Sensible Psyche was created to aid with my journey of self love and acceptance.

As a current Chemistry PhD Candidate in a tier 1 (R1) university, I struggled to take care of myself. I moved over 700 miles away from the place I called home to further my education and create the life I wanted. I made mistakes along the way to getting to where I currently am, and my goal is to help others to learn from my mistakes. When I first moved, I was in an abusive relationship that caused me to put own health aside; my goal was simply to survive. When that relationship ended I began to heal. Anyone who was in an abusive relationship knows that it is a long and grueling process and I made it through– and so can you.

There are three aspects that must heal after any trauma: the mind, the body, and the soul.

FAQ

Why don’t you disclose your name?

I sometimes talk about very sensitive topics on this website. For this reason, I do not disclose my name as I do not want it getting back to others. This is not only for my safety, but also for those around me.

What are your credentials?

I am currently a Chemistry PhD candidate at Tier 1 university in the United States. I have over 6 years of research experience within academia.

Will you ever post which university you attend?

I plan on eventually posting the university, but right now I am not comfortable doing that. I go to a large university, and want to give my experiences freely without worrying about someone figuring out who I am. I am not interested in the entire “Gossip Girl” trope, either, where I post about experiences with a lot of detail while currently attending the school. I’d rather keep the name of the university a secret and openly talk about my experiences to help prevent anyone from being able to figure out who I am.

I am not set in this though– I may change my mind and decide to say where I attend before I graduate.
